Ladies, I want to publish your stories.

Dear ladies reading this,

I want to hear your story.

And I want to publish it too.

Here.

Soon.

Your story matters. I believe that down to the bone.

We need women’s stories right now.

We need yours.

Ladies, get curious about your story.

As you know, if you’ve been reading here for a while, I’ve always believed in the power of storytelling. When we find the courage to believe that the details of our lives matter, that our shifting stories are worthy of being heard, and then we share our stories with the world? We are changed.

So is everyone who hears those stories.

So I’m seeking out your stories.

In particular, I want to publish the story of a time in your life when you grew curious about who you had been told you should be.

Did you see yourself as not worthy at one time? How did you find your way through it?

How have you changed in the last 5 years?

How did you move through discomfort to become braver, bolder, kinder, and more yourself?

Those are the stories I want to publish.

As Hannah Gabsby wrote in her incredible book, Ten Steps to Nanette:

“There is nothing stronger than a broken woman who has rebuilt herself.”

I know that down to my bones too.

I want to publish your stories here, not only my own.

Starting in a few weeks, I’m going to be publishing another woman’s story about getting curious, every week.

Consider this my call to action, ladies. We need your stories.

Send me a paragraph about the story you want to write to my email address: shauna@getcuriousaboutyourstory.com.

If I feel that your idea is a good fit for this publication, we’ll have a Zoom meeting. I’ll give you some direction. You can send me a first draft. I’ll edit it for you, encouraging you to be more curious and more specific. When we both feel it’s done, I’ll publish your piece here for everyone to read.

That’s all free for you, by the way. This is my work in the world.

I want to publish your stories.

“Because of the routines we follow, we often forget that life is an ongoing adventure…and the sooner we realize that, the quicker we will be able to treat life as art: to bring all our energies to each encounter, to remain flexible enough to notice and admit when what we expected to happen did not happen. We need to remember that we are created creative and can invent new scenarios as frequently as they are needed.”
